Home Euthanasia

Home Euthanasia - What to Expect During Your Appointment

  • Dr. Ashley will arrive at your home and explain the process and procedures
  • A premedication will be given to your pet. This is a combination of medications that include a sedative, an anesthetic, and a pain reliever prior to administration of the euthanasia agent. Your pet will become relaxed and drift into a deep sleep prior to the administration of the euthanasia injection.
  • The euthanasia injection will then be delivered. This process is both peaceful and painless.
  • After the euthanasia injection, you can spend as much time with your pet as you’d like
  • A lock of fur can be made at this time.
  • If a cremation option is chosen, your pet will be transported to the veterinarian’s vehicle.
    • If your pet weighs more than 50 lbs, Dr. Ashley will need your assistance in carrying your pet. If you are unable to assist her, please let us know so prior arrangements in having an assistant come along can be made.
  • Dr. Ashley will take care of the after care services and transport your pet to the crematorium.
